Rodrigo Plata, composer for audiovisual media who from a young age has had a great passion for film and video game music.
His main influences are film composers Alexandre Desplat, Hans Zimmer, Joe Hisaishi and Ludovico Einaudi whose styles he seeks to incorporate in each of his compositions without losing his own nostalgic, emotive and modern musical character.
After many years of piano lessons, he studied composition and orchestration with composer Alejandro Karo who also had a huge influence on his career.
Rodrigo’s professional work began with The Man of the Mountain (2017) by Santiago Manríquez, since then, he has composed music for many local, national and international short films, among the most important are Goldfish (2019), El Pozo (2020), Helena (2021), Lentes Rosas, winner of the Short Films Against Gender Violence Award (2022), Sacrificio and None of this Matters Now (Coming Soon).
In 2023, he got nominated to Best Original Score at the Independent Shorts Awards for his participation on the short film Before the Sun Goes Down, winner of the Bronze Award on the category of Best Indie Short.
Rodrigo is currently studying a Music Degree at the University of Sonora, focused on Composition.
